May we have a moment of silence for those who thought they would not pass away and hop and skip right into paradise after the great tribulation that was ever so close!

May 22 1969 Awake!
by zeb in"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".

This week's WT study article "Keep on the Watch" - the latest dumb article from the Gang That Couldn't Think Straight
by sir82 inok so this week's wt study article is entitled "why must we keep on the watch?"..
it is filled with statements on the importance of "being watchful" for the beginning of the "great tribulation".
paragraph 2: “keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is.”after that, jesus admonished them repeatedly: “keep on the watch.”.

LeaveThePlayingField,
Yes, I am sour grapes for having my childhood taken away from me. I hated being mocked and being made fun of for being one of those Jehova's in elementary school. Then to top it off was being talked out of taking a two year medical field education after high school because the end was so close and it will not be needed in Paradise.
I know that I was lied to and now the liers are starting all over again with the new ones. How stupid can people be. We only have one life to life and millions are now more than happy to let the Gibbering Booty tell them how to live, where to live, what to watch, what to wear, wear to go, what to drink, and of course what married couples can and can't do in thier bedroom.

The elders told me that the end was so close that I would not graduate from high school which I did in 1965. Now I am pushing 70 years of age and will join my mother and grandmother in the grave who thought that they too would not die.
I know who said the first lie in the Garden of Eden "you will not die," and I knew who continued the lie in the pages of the Watchtower.

Does it not dawn on the cart witnesses?
by jambon1 ini sat in town recently, right in the window of a nice wee pub.
within minutes i realised that i had a perfect view of a jw cart and the two ridiculously dressed jw's (they have absolutely no individuality at all.
what's more, they all look like they're going to a funeral).

It is all about putting hours on a time slip. If the Gibbering Booty said "Friends, there is no longer a requirement to count hours when you go in service," the bottom would fall out of the "life saving" work in about 3 months.
What is completely absurd, crazy and stupid is the Witlesses think they have a life giving message that must be given because the end is so sooooooon. If a Witness saw smoke coming out of his neighbors house would he stand outside his house sipping on a latte with a sign that says, "Neighbor, your house is on fire."
Those minding the carts...do they believe that all those walking by will be destroyed at Armageddon? Then why not go up to the passerbys and give them a warning message? Why not engage people in conversation. Why goes stand there advertising for Starbucks or updating Facebook, or telling the latest gossip in the Kingdam Hulls? Because they don't really believe it and it is just putting in hours which is much easier than going door to door where you may actually have to talk to someone if you knock on the door too loud.

Those formula prayers. I want to scream
by stillin inwhen the co is visiting, i think i hear "thank you , jehovah, for this special week of activity" until i want to vomit.. also "jehovah, please remember those sick and afflicted.
we pray that they can make a recovery and be back with us.".
stale, canned, institutionalized garble.

Idiotic elder training video
by CookieMonster inso i stumbled across this the other day, please excuse me if it has already been posted.
don't know what you think but i found this idiotic, casting stereotypes and dangerous.
so the scenario goes something like this, young brother finds himself in the company of a young lady at a bar.

Brother Sinner is such a wimp and the elders act like robots. Like so many Witlesses, the life has been sucked out of them.

A sucker is born every minute
by Sour Grapes ini was an elder in the 1970's and i was not a big fan of the "stay alive until 75" dogma.
i was looked down upon by the heavy hitters on the body of elders and in time i changed my mind.
i knew of the failed prophecy of 1914 being the end of all times which was repeated for the year 1925...yet i came to believe well maybe this time they've got it right.. with every new watchtower, i combed over every word to find support for my change in my belief that the end was coming in fall of 1975. at the district assembly in 1975, everyone clung onto every word in the final talk.

ToesUp,
I really appreciate your post! It is just makes me so angry the the Borg is starting all over again with how close we are to the end. Could you imagine living in a paradise earth that is run by JW's? That would be hell on earth.

I get so tired of hearing "Thank your Jehovah for the Gibbering Body, or the Faithful and Discreet Slave." Over and over to the brink of shear nausem. Not one word about thanking Jehovah for his Son who is the head of the congregation, not the Governless Body.

I have added a link that lurkers ans doubters need to listen to. If you ever had any doubts that the Watchtower leadership was responsible for the 1975 debacle, don't be afraid to listen to District Overseer Brother Charles Sinuko's talk he gave in 1967 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
